Medicare is a type of medical insurance developed by the U.S. government for older persons, along with people with specific disabilities and illnesses. If an individual that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the person will have to receive treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to commence rehabilitation, they can also get to visit their physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the doctor will typically approve what sort of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual should be hospitalized for his or her problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in the Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
