Medicare is a type of health insurance created by the U.S. government for senior citizens, and also people with specific disabilities and sicknesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only catch is, the individual will need to acquire treatment from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin treatment, they may also have to visit their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically necessary, and the doctor will usually approve what type of rehabilitation the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual must be in a hospital because of their problem, and also the costs which they willwill have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
