Medicare is a form of medical health insurance created by the federal government for older persons, along with those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If someone who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant degree. The only real exception is, the individual will need to receive treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start rehab, they will also have to visit their physician who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the doctor will typically approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual has to be in a hospital for his or her issue, along with the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
