Outpatient rehab will allow for the treatment client to participate in rehab services with the same commitment one would usually have to agree to in an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. This doesn't always work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to solve significant drug abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everybody. Those who choose an outpatient rehab will typically attend meetings and be a part of counseling and rehab services on a part-time basis every day or a few days per week. This is often helpful for many who have recently completed a much more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of drug abuse which is really a very small amount of clients. For an individual with more significant addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers that provide rehab over a long-term basis are going to be the more advantageous rehabilitation alternative.
