Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has shown to be very useful in situations where standard rehab facilities have fallen short, including dealing with situations within a women's life that are distinctive and traumatic. Such troubles may relate to sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and motherhood, and other serious issues which can be specific to women. Research has shown that women may also become involved in drug abuse more easily than men, and are more predisposed to sickness as a result of drug abuse problems than males because of this.
