Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which provide treatment to handle both mental health and addiction concerns simultaneously. Offering a secure environment is key to ensure dual diagnosis clients can feel at ease and remain free from distraction from things that could compromise their program and advancement. Rehab counselors will work to recognize environmental factors in the client's life such as negative people in their lives or other things that have to be addressed in order for the individual to stay mentally stable and sober t once they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment that helps them develop more efficient coping mechanisms so they are better able to deal with life circumstances well if they depart dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to drugs and alcohol as a possible answer.
