TRICARE is health care insurance that's offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide treatment to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to address alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will of course be asked to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the favored rehab option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors waiting to assist you today.
