Medicare is a form of health care insurance developed by the government for senior citizens, and also people with certain disabilities and illnesses. When someone that has Medicare needs rehab for cases of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real catch is, the individual will need to obtain treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to begin rehab, they will also have to visit their doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the doctor will typically approve what type of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual must be hospitalized for their problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment inside a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
