Individuals who want to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab if they need treatment for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the treatment client to participate in rehabilitation services with the same commitment you might usually have to agree to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility. This doesn't often work in the rehab client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to resolve substantial substance abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that choose an outpatient rehab will usually attend meetings and be a part of therapy and treatment services part-time daily or several days weekly. This is very helpful for many who have just completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with just a brief history of drug use which is usually a really small percentage of clients. For someone with more severe drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facilities that provide rehab on a long-term basis will be the more beneficial treatment choice.
