Offering gender-specific treatment services has proven worthwhile in circumstances where traditional rehab settings have not meet expectations, for example coping with situations within a women's life that are distinctive and distressing. Such issues may have to do with sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, or another significant issues that are specific to women. Studies show that women could also become involved in drug use more easily than men, and so are more vulnerable to sickness as a result of drug abuse issues than males as a result. Because of duties in the home, women also tend to postpone searching for and undergoing treatment, a situation which can be a catalyst for catastrophe. Being mindful of this, rehabilitation services for women are created to ensure that a women's needs are the focus and priority.
