Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to have a prior authorization before taking part in any sort of rehab service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the favored treatment choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits regarding just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process.
