A group home for somebody who has been involved in alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which offers continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. Instead of sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home may help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability within their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside within a group home might be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could possibly be taking actions to get their life set up outside of the group home to enable them to at some time live independently not in the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire work. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a feasible temporary option for individuals who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
