Offering gender-specific treatment services has proven very useful in circumstances where conventional treatment facilities have not meet expectations, including dealing with situations within a women's life which are distinctive and traumatic. Such concerns may relate to sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family and being a mother, or another really serious issues which can be particular to women. Research has shown that women can also get involved in abusing drugs more readily than men, and so are more vulnerable to sickness due to addiction issues than males consequently. Because of responsibilities in the home, women also tend to put off searching for and receiving care for addiction, a situation which can lead to disaster.
