Individuals who wish to maintain a certain amount of flexibility in their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab if they need rehab for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab enables the rehabilitation client to participate in rehab services with the same commitment one would usually have to agree to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment facility. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to address substantial drug abuse issues. So although an outpatient rehab might appear to be an expedient option, it isn't for everybody. People who choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily take part in meetings and take part in counseling and treatment services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or several days weekly. This is helpful for individuals who have just completed an even more extensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with only a short history of drug abuse which is usually a really small percentage of clients. For somebody with more serious addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug rehab facilities which offer rehabilitation on a long-term basis will probably be the more advantageous treatment alternative.
