Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has proven beneficial in circumstances where traditional treatment facilities have not meet expectations, for example dealing with situations in a women's life which are unique and distressing. Such troubles may pertain to sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, or another serious issues that are specific to women. Research shows that women also can get involved in drug use more readily than men, and therefore are more predisposed to sickness as a consequence of addiction problems than males as a result. Due to obligations in their home, women also tend to put off searching for and undergoing treatment, a circumstance which can lead to catastrophe.
