Medicaid is a health care insurance available for those who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government provided insurance. Whether or not an individual qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and people shouldn't presume they don't qualify just because they earn a fair income. For example, men and women who have many dependents may be entitled to Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what might be considered a sensible income. Medicaid also can cover the price of treatment, if a person has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehab. There are lots of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what types of treatment are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient treatment services for instance while other states cover more intensive rehab such as a residential stay in long-term drug treatment center. If somebody is involved in substance abuse and needs help, they're able to use their Medicaid health coverage to get this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have enough cash or another kind of medical health insurance to pay for rehabilitation, they could see if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug rehab facility that's approved inside their state.
