Medicaid is a form of medical health insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government funded insurance coverage. Whether or not someone qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify just because they earn a reasonable income. For example, individuals who have a lot of dependents may qualify for Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what might be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid could also cover the costs of rehab, if a person has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehabilitation. There are lots of alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers which accept Medicaid, but different states have distinct rules for what types of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only cover outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover more extensive treatment like a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment center. If someone is involved with drug use and needs help, they can use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this help. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have the cash or some other type of health care insurance to cover treatment, they can determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then sign up for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that's approved in their state.
