If an inpatient center is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very helpful, as it can certainly help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
