Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which deliver rehab to address both mental health and addiction concerns at the same time. Offering a secure environment is key to ensure dual diagnosis clients can be relaxed and remain undistracted from circumstances that may cut across their treatment plan and development. Rehab counselors will work to identify environmental factors in the client's life including negative people in their lives or other things which must be addressed in order for the individual to stay mentally stable and abstinen t after they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral rehab which helps them develop more efficient coping methods so that they are able to better handle life situations more proficiently once they depart dual diagnosis rehab rather than turning to alcohol and drugs as an inferior option.
