A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a place which provides continual support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but in addition there are group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending individuals who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home will help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability within their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. Residents inside a group home may be involved in rehabilitation services whilst in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some point live independently away from the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent solution, yet it's a practical temporary option for those who are trying to get their lives back together.
