TRICARE covers many different treatment services to handle alcohol and drug dependence like detoxification services, in addition to rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Individuals with TRICARE will of course be asked to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of rehab service, that may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program will be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits about how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very helpful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors ready to help today.
