Medicare is a form of medical health insurance designed by the U.S. government for senior citizens, as well as individuals with certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs treatment for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will either be covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the person will need to acquire treatment from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to commence rehabilitation, they will also have to see their doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the doctor will usually approve what sort of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab solutions. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual has to be in a hospital for his or her issue, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
