A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and also have counsel and assistance at their fingertips around the clock. Residents inside a group home may be taking part in rehab services while in residence, or may be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home in order to at some time live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or acquire employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent solution, however it is a feasible temporary option for many who want to get their lives back together again.
