A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending people who are being affected by substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home will help offer an appropriate environment to help sustain stability within their lives and also have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. People who reside within a group home may be involved in rehab services whilst in residence, or could be taking steps to get their life set up outside the group home so that they can at some point live on their own outside the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, but it is a viable short-term option for those who are trying to get their lives back together again.
