Medicare is a type of health insurance designed by the U.S. government for older persons, along with those that have specific disabilities and illnesses. When someone that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The one catch is, the individual will need to receive treatment coming from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they will also have to see their doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically necessary, and the doctor will typically approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program in the event that the individual needs to be hospitalized for his or her issue, along with the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they will have to self pay.
