TRICARE is medical insurance that is provided to members of the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would assume, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers numerous rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to get a prior authorization before taking part in any type of rehab service, which can be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits regarding how much time a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very useful, as it can certainly help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors standing by to help today.
