Offering gender-specific treatment services has shown to be very useful in situations where traditional rehab facilities have not meet expectations, including dealing with situations inside a women's life that are unique and traumatic. Such troubles may relate to sexual abuse, physical trauma, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and being a mother, and other serious issues which are particular to women. Research shows that women also can become involved in abusing drugs more easily than men, and so are more predisposed to sickness because of drug abuse issues than males as a result. Because of duties in the home, women also tend to put off trying to find and receiving care for addiction, a situation which can lead to disaster. With this in mind, treatment services for women are designed in order that a women's needs would be the concentration and priority.
