TRICARE is medical health insurance that is provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is much more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People who have TRICARE will naturally need to get a prior authorization before taking part in any type of treatment service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very useful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
