TRICARE is medical insurance that is offered to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will of course be required to get a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which is often organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center is the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits concerning how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which may be very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
