LGBT represents lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and there are facilities which address the unique needs of these clients. Individuals who are LGBT can often feel alone, not understood, and seen as socially unwanted. This may be a quite challenging and painful existence, and leads many LGBT individuals to a life of substance abuse to numb this pain. Somebody who is LGBT may not feel relaxed inside a conventional rehabilitation facility amongst individuals who aren't experiencing the same problems they are experiencing in their lives. A LGBT center provides an environment which can be free of judgment, where LGBT clients can be totally comfortable and safe divulging to their peers and rehab counselors issues which should be resolved in order to recover. Rehab counselors in a LGBT rehab can help clients mend relationships with their loved ones, in case their family disagree with their sexual choice as is often the case. This situation is an extremely common trigger for drug use, which is an example of a thing that could be resolved in rehabilitation. LGBT clients often would like to be accepted within their lives, and rehab will help them accept themselves and produce confidence to enable them to lead a wholesome life free of alcohol and drugs.
