Criminal justice client rehabs are available as a far better option than time in jail or heavy fines for individuals who have been convicted of any type of drug or alcohol related crime. By way of example, someone who has been found guilty of dui of alcohol or drugs may be eligible to obtain rehab services for his or her problem instead of serving time in prison. The judge could even order that the individual receive rehabilitation, either alone or along with other consequences. New offenders in particular will often be given the opportunity to select a criminal justice client rehab rather than other sentencing, and it is well-advised that they reap the benefits of it if it's a choice. The idea behind criminal justice client rehabs is it is way more efficient and effective to invest commitment into rehab than enforcement of other consequences. Much research has been carried out to see how effective this method is on recidivism rates, i.e. if the individual returns or not to criminal justice system following treatment. The signs and indicators seem to be quite positive, and criminal justice clients that do take part in rehabilitation have better potential for remaining out of the judicial system following treatment.
