TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to members of the military of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is more common than one would think, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will naturally need to have a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of treatment service, that may be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits about how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very beneficial, as it can certainly help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
