A group home for someone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and help for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending people who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help provide an appropriate environment to help sustain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside within a group home could be involved in rehab services while in residence, or could possibly be taking measures to get their life set up outside the group home to enable them to at one point live independently not in the group home.
