Medicare is a type of health care insurance developed by the government for senior citizens, along with people with specific disabilities and sicknesses. When someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only catch is, the individual will have to receive treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to begin rehabilitation, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that treatment services are medically necessary, and the physician will typically approve what type of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual must be hospitalized for his or her problem, and the costs which they willwill have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they will have to self pay.
