A group home for someone who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As an alternative to sending people who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home will help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside in a group home could be taking part in treatment services while in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some point live independently not in the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, but it is a sensible temporary option for many who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
