TRICARE is health care insurance which is provided to folks in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will naturally be asked to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, that may be organized with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the favored rehab option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits concerning just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very beneficial, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors waiting to help today.
