Criminal justice client rehabs are available as being a considerably better option than jail time or significant fines for individuals who have already been convicted of any sort of alcohol or drug related crime. For example, someone who has been in prison for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol may qualify to obtain treatment services for their problem rather than serving time in jail. Much research has been done to discover how effective this method is on recidivism rates, i.e. if the criminal justice client returns or not to criminal justice system following rehab. The signs and indicators seem to be quite positive, and criminal justice clients who do experience rehabilitation have better possibility of remaining out of the judicial system following rehabilitation.
