TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to handle alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, and also treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will obviously be required to have a prior approval before taking part in any kind of rehabilitation service, which can be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility could be the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in this particular program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very helpful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors waiting to help today.
