Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which provide treatment to handle both mental health and addiction concerns at the same time. Offering a safe setting is essential so that dual diagnosis clients can feel relaxed and remain undistracted from circumstances that may cut across their program and development. Rehab counselors will continue to work to recognize environmental factors in the client's life including negative people in their lives or other things that have to be addressed in order for the person to remain mentally stable and abstinen t once they depart dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral rehabilitation which will help them develop more effective coping mechanisms so they are better able to deal with life situations better when they leave dual diagnosis rehab rather than turning to drugs as a possible solution.
