TRICARE is health care insurance which is offered to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to provide treatment to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, in addition to rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Individuals with TRICARE will obviously need to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any type of treatment service, that may be organized with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility will be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits concerning the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors ready to help you today.
