Self pay is sometimes the only option for individuals who need rehab in a drug and alcohol rehab program for drug abuse but haven't any health care insurance. It isn't uncommon for an individual hooked on alcohol or drugs to not have private health care insurance, as it can be hard to keep a drug or alcohol habit going while also keeping employment.
