Research shows that women could also get embroiled in drug use more readily than men, and so are more vulnerable to sickness as a consequence of dependency problems than males as a result. Because of obligations in their home, women also tend to put off seeking out and undergoing treatment, a situation which can be a catalyst for catastrophe. Being mindful of this, treatment services for women are designed so that a women's needs will be the concentration and priority. Comparable to coed centers, drug rehabilitation centers which offer rehabilitation solutions to women help women through detox and withdrawal as a starting point. Following this step, counselors help women focus on both basic and gender specific issues which may have brought about their substance abuse. Women also benefit from the positive support from other female peers, and some programs that provide rehab services to women provide client beds for their young children.
