Individuals who would like to maintain some flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab if they need treatment for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the treatment client to take part in rehab services without the commitment one would ordinarily have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. This doesn't always work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to solve significant drug abuse problems. So even though an outpatient rehab may seem like a convenient possibility, it isn't for everyone. People who decide on an outpatient rehab will generally show up at meetings and be a part of counseling and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or several days a week. This is often helpful for those who have just completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a short history of drug abuse which is really a really small amount of clients. For an individual with more serious drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment centers which offer rehab over a long-term basis are going to be the more beneficial rehabilitation option.
