TRICARE is health care insurance that's offered to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, and also treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will of course need to get a prior approval before taking part in any type of rehab service, which is often arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program will be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very useful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
