Medicare is a kind of health care insurance designed by the U.S. government for seniors, in addition to people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only catch is, the individual will have to acquire treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the doctor will generally approve which kind of rehabilitation the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of treatment providers. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program if the individual needs to be hospitalized because of their issue, and also the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in the Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
