TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will naturally be asked to have a prior authorization before partaking in any type of treatment service, which can be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center could be the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very useful, as it may help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors ready to help you today.
