TRICARE is health insurance that is provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence like detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will obviously be asked to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any type of rehabilitation service, which may be arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center could be the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits regarding just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very beneficial, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors ready to help you today.
