Medicare is a form of medical health insurance created by the U.S. government for older persons, along with individuals with specific disabilities and illnesses. When someone who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only real catch is, the person will need to acquire treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they will also have to visit their medical doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what type of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program in the event that the individual needs to be hospitalized for problem, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
