A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home might help provide an acceptable environment to help maintain stability in their lives and also have counsel and support within reach 24/7. Residents in a group home could be taking part in rehab services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life set up outside the group home in order to at one point live on their own not in the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain work. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent option, yet it's a sensible temporary option for those who are trying to get their lives back together again.
