Medicare is a type of medical health insurance created by the government for senior citizens, along with those that have specific disabilities and diseases. If an individual that has Medicare needs rehab for cases of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the person will need to obtain treatment from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to commence rehab, they will also have to visit their doctor who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the doctor will usually approve which kind of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual must be in a hospital because of their problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in the Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
